Install the CricHD APK on your Android phone

CricHD is not listed in the Play Store, so the app comes as an APK file that you download from this page. Installing it takes about two minutes, and the phone will ask you to allow it once along the way.

This page may be more than you need.

On most phones, adding CricHD to the home screen is quicker: no file, no permission, three taps.

Use this page when that did not work for you, or when you specifically want the APK.

1Download the APK

Tap the download button above.

Chrome will warn that this type of file can harm your device. It shows that warning for every app that does not come through the Play Store. Tap Download anyway.

2Open the downloaded file

When the download has finished, tap Open on the notification.

If the notification has already gone, open the Files app (on some phones, Downloads) and tap crichd.apk inside the Downloads folder.

3Allow the install, then install

The phone tells you it is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source. Every Android phone says this the first time, whatever the app.

Tap Settings on that message, switch on Allow from this source, then go back.

Tap Install.

If Google Play Protect shows a warning of its own, tap More details and then Install anyway.

No message appeared, or the switch is stuck?

The same permission can be reached through Settings. Choose your phone:

Samsung

Settings → Apps → three dots (top right) → Special access → Install unknown apps

Switch on the app you opened the file with, which is usually Chrome or My Files.

Xiaomi / Redmi / Poco

Settings → Privacy protection → Special permissions → Install unknown apps

Switch on the app you opened the file with, which is usually Chrome or File Manager.

Oppo / Realme / OnePlus

Settings → Privacy → Special app access → Install unknown apps

Switch on the app you opened the file with, which is usually Chrome or Files.

Other Android phones

Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps

Switch on the app you opened the file with, which is usually Chrome or Files.

Quickest of all: open Settings and search for unknown.

✓Done

CricHD is now in your app list and on the home screen. Open it, pick a match, and it plays in HD just as it does on the site.

If your phone does something else

The permission is switched on but the install is still refused

The permission belongs to the app that opened the file, not to the one that downloaded it. If Chrome downloaded it but you opened it from Files, then Files is the app that needs switching on.

Go back to the list of phones in step 3 and switch on that app.

"App not installed"

Usually an older CricHD app is already on the phone and blocks the new one: uninstall it first. If there is none, the phone is probably short of storage; remove something you no longer use and try again.

The downloaded file is nowhere to be found

Look in the Downloads folder of the Files app. The file is called crichd.apk.
